Shipping Policy
At Eat Florida Seafood, we take pride in bringing fresh Florida Keys seafood from our Key Largo market to your doorstep. Because our products are perishable, we carefully package every order to help ensure your seafood arrives cold, fresh, and ready to enjoy.
Please review the following shipping policies before placing your order.
Shipping Schedule
Online seafood orders are processed and shipped within two business days after the order is placed.
Orders are normally shipped via UPS Next Day service.
The two-business-day order-processing period is separate from transit time.
We do not ship on weekends. Orders placed near a weekend will begin processing on the next business day.
We do not ship on the following UPS holidays, when regular UPS pickup and delivery service is unavailable:
New Year's Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
UPS holiday dates and operating schedules may vary from year to year. We may also suspend shipping on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve when UPS pickup service is limited or unavailable. Affected orders will be shipped on the next available shipping day.Delivery Dates & Delays
Our standard shipping method is UPS 2-Day. While we make every effort to ensure your order arrives as scheduled, delivery dates are not guaranteed.
Once an order has been shipped, delivery is handled by UPS and may be affected by circumstances outside of Eat Florida Seafood's control, including carrier delays, severe weather, mechanical issues, road closures, and natural disasters.
Florida Ground Shipping
For delivery addresses within Florida, Eat Florida Seafood may use UPS Ground when UPS estimates that the package will arrive the next business day. The shipping method will be selected based on the carrier's estimated delivery date.
Hurricanes & Severe Weather
As a Florida Keys seafood company, we understand that hurricanes and tropical weather can affect shipping operations.
If a hurricane, tropical storm, or other severe weather event affects our ability to safely ship an order, your order will be held and shipped on the next available shipping day after the storm or weather event has passed.
The safety of our customers, employees, and delivery partners comes first. We will communicate with customers when significant weather events are expected to affect their order.
Perishable Seafood Packaging
All seafood orders are carefully packed in insulated Styrofoam coolers with gel packs to help maintain proper temperature during transit.
Our seafood products are individually sealed in bags before being placed inside the insulated shipping container.
Because these are perishable products, we recommend shipping your order to an address where someone will be available to receive it.
When your package arrives, seafood should be cold or frozen. Depending on the length and conditions of transit, gel packs may have partially or completely thawed while the seafood remains appropriately cold.
Upon delivery, immediately refrigerate or freeze your seafood according to the product's storage requirements.
We do not require a signature for delivery.
Delivery Address
Eat Florida Seafood ships to residential and commercial street addresses within the United States.
Because we ship via UPS, we're unable to deliver to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO/DPO addresses, which require USPS for final delivery.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
We strongly recommend shipping to an address where someone will be available to receive the package.
If a customer requests that UPS hold a perishable package at a UPS facility, Eat Florida Seafood cannot guarantee the condition of the seafood after the customer-requested hold and is not responsible for product quality resulting from the delay.
Freshness & Order Issues
We carefully inspect and package every order before it leaves our Key Largo facility. However, because seafood is perishable and shipping conditions can vary, we understand that issues may occasionally occur.
If you believe there is a problem with your order, please contact Eat Florida Seafood within 24 hours of delivery.
To help us resolve your claim, please provide:
Photos of the seafood
Photos of the shipping box
Photos of the insulated packaging
Photos of the gel packs
Photos of the shipping label
A description of the issue
Claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the circumstances, Eat Florida Seafood may provide a replacement, refund, store credit, or another appropriate resolution.
We ask that customers contact us as soon as possible after delivery so that we can properly investigate any issue with the shipment.
Lost or Missing Packages
If UPS marks your package as delivered but you cannot locate it, please contact Eat Florida Seafood as soon as possible.
Customers may also contact UPS directly, but Eat Florida Seafood will work with UPS to file a delivery complaint or investigation when appropriate.
If a package is confirmed to be lost, Eat Florida Seafood will determine the appropriate resolution on a case-by-case basis.
Because seafood is perishable, please notify us promptly if your order does not arrive as expected.
Damaged Packages
If your package arrives damaged, please photograph the package and its contents before discarding any packaging materials.
Contact Eat Florida Seafood within 24 hours of delivery so we can review the situation and determine the appropriate resolution.
Damaged shipments are handled on a case-by-case basis, and shipping insurance may be used when applicable.
Cancellations & Order Changes
Orders may be cancelled for a full refund if the cancellation request is received before the order enters our fulfillment process.
Once an order has entered our fulfillment process, cancellations and refunds may not be possible.
Cancellation requests received after fulfillment begins will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Because our seafood is perishable and orders are prepared specifically for shipment, we may be unable to make changes after fulfillment begins, including changes to products, quantities, shipping addresses, or delivery dates.
Please carefully review your order and shipping information before completing your purchase.
Product Availability
Seafood availability can vary based on season, weather, fishing conditions, harvest regulations, and supply.
This is especially true for seasonal Florida Keys favorites such as Florida spiny lobster and stone crab.
If an item becomes unavailable before your order ships, Eat Florida Seafood will refund the unavailable item rather than substitute a different product without your approval.
Seasonal products are subject to availability and applicable state and federal regulations.
Shipping Insurance
Eat Florida Seafood carries shipping insurance on outbound shipments. In the event of a qualifying loss or damage during transit, we will work with the carrier and/or insurance provider as appropriate.
Shipping insurance does not eliminate the need for customers to promptly report problems with their order.
Customer Responsibility
By placing an order, customers acknowledge that:
Seafood is a perishable product.
Someone should be available to receive the shipment whenever possible.
Seafood should be refrigerated or frozen immediately upon delivery.
Shipping and delivery dates may be affected by weather, hurricanes, carrier delays, and other circumstances outside Eat Florida Seafood's control.
Claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.
Photos may be required to process a claim.
Customer-requested carrier holds may affect product quality and are not the responsibility of Eat Florida Seafood.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping and delivery information.
